Programs

Each year we hold between 8 and 10 programs. We invite speakers to come to the Katharine Matthies House to speak to our members and the public. These programs cost nothing for members and are only $5 per person for non-members.

In addition to the programs, we also host two vendor fairs each year. Our Humphreyville Market is held in June (outside) and our Holly Day Fair is held each December (inside). These markets are busier each year and we continually expand and develop them. In 2024, we started inviting food trucks to park by the driveway and it was a big success.

Special events happen from time to time. These include bus trips to various historically significant locations within two hours of Seymour, special interest and hobby classes like the needle felting and cookie decorating classes we have held in the past, and new exhibit space unveilings. We also offer private group tours upon request.

We hold an Open House every other month. These are usually held on Saturdays from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Self-guided tours and docents are available at each open house.

Photos with Santa typically happen on the first Saturday of December each year. We don't like to brag, but we have the best Santa. Children and families can take photos with our Santa in front of the fireplace and decorated Christmas tree at no charge.
